Juan Rosa Quintanilla is an Agricultural Engineer, with a Master's Degree in Natural Resources Management and has a postgraduate degree in geographic information systems and a postgraduate degree in pedagogical training for teaching Higher Agricultural Education. Since 2023 he holds the position of Rector of the University of El Salvador and held the position of Vice Rector of Administrative Affairs between 2019-2023. He served as Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences for two periods (2011-2015 and 2015-2019) and since 1992 he is a professor at such Faculty, where from 1999 to 2001 and from 2003 to 2007 he was head of the Department of Crop Breeding.
